Choosing the perfect photo

Most photos are not created with 3D and motion in mind and so they do not all work well. It is important that you use our guide below to check whether your image will work or not.

    1. Depth - Photos with objects in the foreground, middle and background will work best.

Tip - Avoid photos where the main object fills out the foreground too much.

    2. Background - Plain or blurry backgrounds are not ideal. Have clear identifiable features in the background.

    3. Focus - Ensure your whole photo is in focus, or that the principle object/subject is sharp.

    4. Lighting - Too many dark or black areas reduces the effect, including silhouettes.

    1. Colours - Avoid extreme colour changes or contrasts between the two images. Very dark colours or very bright colours will produce a ‘ghosting’ effect. Mid tone colours work best.

    2. Size – The focal point of each image needs to be similar in size.

    3. Lighting – Bright and colourful images work best.

    4. Text – If including text then ensure it is roughly the same size and occupies the same space across both images.

    5. Backgrounds – The object/subject in the image foreground are the focal points. Avoid having too many objects in the background that detract from this.
